Just a few points first:
- I am more of a power user than an Admin
- I have full control of the site I am working with
- I have never used apps from the SharePoint store before this week
- I am working in the O365 environment
I can "add-it" from the SharePoint store, I click "trust-it" as part of the installation. The app shows up in the apps that I can add. When I try to do the add app, I receive the Sorry there was a problem with the link to my site and ending with "not allowed because the reference is outside of the App Web".
I have completed some research and see maybe this is an issue with the master page? I haven't changed anything. I do have a custom master page that is used for the entire site collection which I can't change (can't be different than other company sites). Is this custom master page causing the issue?
What am I doing wrong? please help!
