AD security groups not offered by people picker

Hello,

we are using Sharepoint online. Our security groups (in our AD) are synchronized into Office 365. I can see all of them in  Office 365  - Admin Center -> GROUPS.

The problem is that we can not add them into our SP groups, they are simply just not resolved with people picker. Is there some settings which needs to be changed so these security groups will be also offered in people picker?
