Filtering for Current User in SharePoint Online (O365)

I am using SharePoint Online as part of an Office 365 subscription.

I have created a site designed to collect information from people. I put a web part on a page; the web part is a custom list with columns for each of the data items I need to collect.  The web part works fine and the simple form that people can use to edit their data is fine.

The users of this site range from highly technical to tech-phobic.  Therefore, I would like to filter for the current user, so each user can see only his or her own record and any records he or she creates (like a record for a spouse).

I can't use the "Created by" data because I have created all of these.  I thought to use the email address of the user, but I do not know how to filter for Current User's Email Address.

OR, it would be perfectly fine to allow a user access to any record (the data need not be kept confidential from other authorized users), so if I could have a page that has ONLY a search box that will open an edit form, that would also work.

Can anyone help?
