SharePoint Online public facing blog

I have just signed up for an Office 365 Business Essentials subscription which includes SharePoint Online. I added a blog site to my SharePoint sites and was very disappointed to find that you have to sign in with a Live account to view the blog. What is the point of offering a blog site in SharePoint Online service if nobody will be able to see the blog? I realise that since March 9 2015 MS have discontinued public sites as part of Office 365, but still to offer a blog sites is misleading.

Also, now you get redirected to GoDaddy or Wix if you want to add a public site to SharePoint Online. I don't see how that links up to my SharePoint sites? When clicking on the GoDaddy link from my Office Portal, it takes me to GoDaddy and starts a whole new site registration process. What does that have to do with my SharePoint site whatsoever? It doesn't make sense.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
