I have created managed metadata site column in my client's Sharepoint Online. I have set the column to use open metadata in term set settings. My client's goal is to let users to fill their own keywords in to the column (folksonomy) as easy as possible.
When I try to fill new key word into managed metadata column, I get "given term is not valid" error message. If I click tag icon to browse key words and click "Add New Item" link, I'm able to add new keywords into managed metadata column.
However this doesn't meet my client's requirements since it's not easy to use as enterprise key words functionality.
Is there a way to user to input new keywords into managed metadata column without opening term selection and click "Add New Item" link? In other words, is there a way to make managed metadata column work the same way as enterprise keywords? My client
wants to create three different managed metadata columns so using enterprise keywords (one column) is not ideal solution for them.
