Exporting List to excel when items are more than 5000 threshold limit - SharePoint Online

Hi there,
         I have some a list and  document libs which have more than 5000 items.
When I use the out of the box export to excel in the ribbon it doesn't work and complain of the threshold limit.
Are there ways I can still export to excel ?
Sure must be people here with similar issues
