Hi Community,
I hope you can on this bizzare problem. My VS 2015 Community has intermittent connectivity issue with the Sharepoint Online. I am creating a SharePoint Add-in and the VS 2015 needs to connect to my sharepoint online tenant. However, half a time, it is not able to connect. The "Connect to sharepoint" dialog just stays blank and will not complete the login. When I close the dialog, VS would ask me if I would like to work in offline mode.
This could also be related to another issue with IE and Edge browser that is not able to login to my sharepoint online tenant. I am able to access the Office 365 portal but when accessing my sharepoint account, IE and Edge will not complete the request. If you can visualize, on the IE or Edge tab, it keeps changing from something like "Working" then flashes and changes again to "Office login" then switches to "About blank". I guess the login request is not really sent to the server.
I have already cleared the Internet cache and even checked the "Delete cache when the browser is closed". I have also tried installing the Microsoft Windows 10 anniversary update but removed it since it slowed my computer significantly.
I had this issue once in which I thought that it was caused by the change I made with the office portal where I changed the start page to Sharepoint online. When I reverted all the changes I did on the Office 365 portal, the issue disappeared the next next day but it keeps coming back.
I don't think the issue is with my sharepoint account since I can login to it with a Chrome browser fine. But VS 2015 Community specifically uses IE as its debug browser and probably as its agent to login/connect to Sharepoint tenant. I already tried uninstalling IE 11 once but the issue was not resolved.
My settings: Windows 10 32bit, VS 2015 Community, Office 365 Developer account. IE 11, Edge
