I am working on a SharePoint online team site collection. and we have some requirements to build a cusotm list with these customization inside the its Create,Edit and Display forms:-
1. To show/hide certain fields inside the Create & Edit forms based on the item status. so i want to implement this by adding a JavaScript web part inside my Create & Edit forms (as i use to do inside the on-premises forms). where the JavaScript
will show/hide the fields according to the status.
2. Inside the Display form, i want to show items from another list which is referencing (using a lookup field) the current item. for this i want to add a "Data View" component representing the child list inside the Display form for the parent list.
now both of the above customization will not work when i use the modern experience for the list. as inside modern experience we can not do the above customization inside the list forms (create,edit & display forms). so for me to be able to do the above customization inside the list forms, i need to disable rendering the list in modern experience, and reply on the classic experience as follow:-
but my question is about the future-Proof of the classic experience inside sharepoint online? as we are planning to do a long-term investment on this list. so can we rely on classic experience?
