Sharepoint 365 exporting to Excel with # signs and ID numbers

I have a task list in my Sharepoint 2013 site that has 2 fields that allow multiple values. When I export the list to Excel, it shows a # sign and two numbers (example: Jones, Steve A;#21;#Smith, John D;#25). These are like some kind of an ID for that person. For example, If Steve shows up anywhere in the "allow multiple values columns" he will have the#21 after his name. I need to be able to keep the field as allow multiple values, but I dont want the# sign and numbers to show. Is there a way to get risd of these without doing it manually in Excel
