I would like to create a list in SharePoint Online that gets its data from a local SQL Server 2008 database. Is this possible? If so can you please point me to tutorial on how to do it? I think I have to use Business Connectivity Services and create an external content type that is pointing to a Windows Communication Foundation Service which in turn is exposing the data from the local SQL Server database, but some posts are indicating that you would need to involve Azure. Please be very specific, sorry I'm a noob :-)
