Intermittent Offcie365 Login Credentials with OneDrive for Business

We are piloting OneDrive for Business.

We have Office 2013 on Windows 7.

Our Office365 authenticates using our onpremise ADFS/DirSync solution.

We log into OneDrive for business through Internet Explorer; typing in our  *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, clicking keep me signed in; which logs us in without our password using SSO.

Editing documents from OneDrive within I.E. to Word throws up a login dialogue that puts us in an endless loop before word crashes. This is the same for save as from word to OneDrive for Business. OneDrive for Business@org shows up in Save As in Office but this log in dialogue keeps appearing.

The difficult position for us though, is that the problem is intermittent. Sometimes the overall solution works beautfully with seamless integration with office and no login issues and sometimes it is awful and demonstrates the issue above.

We can always login to Office365 via the login portal; but this dialogue box between Office and OneDrive for Business is a real pain and as I said sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't for no apparent reason and I'm unsure where to even look.

This occurs with all users.

Any ideas?
