I am calling file REST API file method "GetFileByServerRelativeURL' using 'Call HTTP Web Service Action' in
SharePoint 2013 workflow. When i try to execute this call, workflow gives me the following error and gets suspended:
Details: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the workflow instance. Exception details: System.IO.InvalidDataException:
Unable to deserialize HTTP response content. Expected ContentType : 'application/json', 'text/plain' or 'text/html', Received ContentType : 'application/octet-stream'.
I have set following properties in request headers for this web service call:
1) accept : application/json; odata=verbose
2) content-type: application/json; odata=verbose
3) binaryStringResponseBody: true
I presume the call works because it is returning the binary stream, i want this file binary stream so that i can copy this file to another team site. I am following this article but i need to use workflow to achieve this. Guidance needed!
I need some help to figure out if this is a limitation from O365 Sharepoint online or a potential security problem. I have a document library in sharepoint which has unique permissions, I have an external user (non-company domain) to whom I have given full Control rights. The user was previously able to do all of the below but suddenly, it stopped working.
1. Drag and drop files on to document library
2. Use "Open in Explorer"
3. Create New Folder
4. Delete any existing file
I was able to do all of the above with same permission settings for company domain user. Is it a restriction imposed recently?

Hi everybody,
i just add a custom property on my advanced search WebPart on SharePoint Online.
First i linked a refinable property "RefinaleDate00" to my custom column (datetime). This column is a custom column on a specific doc library and it is not part of a content type.
Second, i edit the xml on the properties of the webpart "advanced search" and add the following lines :
<PropertyDefs><ResultType DisplayName="Tous" Name="default">
<KeywordQuery/>
<PropertyRef Name="RefinableDate00" />
Then i tried to check if this new column appears and no .. nothing new on my search form. So i'm wondering if i did something wrong or if i need to wait a bit until a job or research crawl is activated ... Or if my custom colomns needs something specific to be able on search form ...
Thanks for your help !
Xavier.
Hello,
I've come across an interesting error, and am not quite sure what is going on, but have a hunch that it has to do with the location of the file.
If I create or upload an office document (docx, xlsx, pptx) to my personal area of the OneDrive/Sharepoint page (https://sharepointcompanypageurl-my.sharepoint.com/personal/) I can share it directly from the web browser with "Edit" or "View" rights and it works fine.
However, if I open up the document within Excel 2016, Word 2016, or PowerPoint 2016 and click "Share", I get the following "Sharing Error" dialog box:
Sharing failed for the following invitees:
Invitee Result
<e-mail address> The invitation sent to this email address was returned. Please check the email address and try again.
This actually happens with everyone. It seems as if the Office 2016 suite has problems sharing directly from the desktop applications if the files are in our own personal OneDrive account, but you can actually share the file if you log into the Office Portal and go to your document in Sharepoint/OneDrive and share it from the web.
Is this normal behavior? Can this be fixed? What would you recommend?
Hi Guys,
I need the direct URL for the SharePoint Admin page for tenants with a Office 365 for Small Business license.
Usually the SharePoint admin page is - https://tenant-admin.sharepoint.com
I have confirmed that this URL works for standard E3 tenants, but it fails or an Small Business tenant provided through Telstra in Australia. The Small Business Admin portal is very restricted. Exchange Admin can be managed by changing the URL to have /ecp,
but there seems to be no way around the SharePoint portal.
Please advise ASAP as I want to migrate from that Tenant and CloudMigrator needs that URL

Hello there
My client has Document Sets configured for a library which have been working fine. However following the upgrade to SharePoint 2016, he no longer has the option to create a new Document Set from the New button on the tool bar.
Under library settings, the content type is set to offer only the default, which is the Document set, the rest are hidden. However the menu offers all the default document types (Word, Excel etc.) and the new link feature, but it does not offer the Document Set at all! I can't see any other way of creating a new Document Set
Can anyone offer some advice here?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Wanted to know if there is a way we can backup a sitecollection and restore it on a different sitecollection.
Can we do this within same domain?
Can we do this across domains?
Thanks,

Hi Team,
In SharePoint 2013 Online (Office 365), we are looking that internal and external users should able to access, collaborate and manage documents in the SharePoint team site.
We are planning that we should create Azure AD account for external users.
Please suggest.
Let me know, if you all feel any different approach.
Any approach, information, code about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hello,
I am trying to export a calendar event as a .ics file from Sharepoint calendar. With SP2013 we can use :
/sites/SiteName/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Cmd=Display&List=ListID&CacheControl=1&ID=ITEMID
but when i try to use the above url for SP online i get a 'Cannot complete this action error'.
How do we implement this in Sharepoint online?
Thanks
Hello,
I currently manage a SharePoint O365 environment, and an on-premise SharePoint 2013 environment.
It was brought to my attention today that no one is able to add any new KPI Status Indicators on our O365 Environment.
We are able to create a new "Web Part Page with Status List" from any Report Library. When selecting any option under "New", such as "SharePoint List based Status Indicator" under "Status List", it links me to the correct page, and shows the navigation, but the page itself is blank.
This is also true with our existing indicator lists. If we navigate to any KPIListViewPage, and select "SharePoint List based Status Indicator", the page shows up as blank.
This only is happening on our O365 environment, and is occurring on all site collections. Our on-premise environment is not having any issues. Additionally, I had a contact at another company test his O365 environment, and received the same issue.
Has anyone seen this before, or know how to remedy this issue? Thanks in advance for any help and/or direction!
Kind regards,
AlanInMichigan
Hello, everybody.
I'v got a problem with performing the cmdlet 'New-SPOSiteGroup' on my SharePoint Online sites.
Trying to run
New-SPOSiteGroup -Site https://companyName.sharepoint.com -Group 'TEST' -PermissionLevels 'Design'
and it reports a error:
New-SPOSiteGroup : The permission level 'Design' is not a supported permission.
It does not work with any other permission level (Full Control, Contribute, whatever) either.
It does not work on any other sites 'inside'. Like https://companyName.sharepoint.com/sites/siteName
The account is a SharePoint admin and has all the required rights. I can create groups via a browser with no problem.
I also can successfully perform all the other cmdlets from Online PowerShell Module.
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks.
Hello,
I am working in Office 365 (E3 - SharePoint Online) project. Few days back, the SharePoint Designer workflows are getting published and also getting attached to list. I am creating List Workflows.
I am working in SharePoint Designer 2013, and creating SP 2010 Workflows. The workflow is getting saved and published with no errors (successfully), however its not getting attached to list. Also, the .xsn form is getting created, all files (.xoml etc) are published. I am writing just a single line in the Workflow (Let's say - LOG TO HISTORY LIST).
I also tried clearing SP Designer Cache. Also permissions, everything is perfectly fine. Also checked site features and site collection features, all are activated. I also tried with manual start of Workflows, but NO LUCK !!
IMPORTANT NOTE - In one of the sub-site, workflow is getting associated, but in others its not, although both sites are in the same site collection and created with the same site template.
ISSUE - Any idea, how suddenly workflows are not getting attached to list.
Any help would be highly appreciated !!
Hi.
We have an InfoPath 2013 form that was published to a SPO list.
We have an approval workflow that sends an email asking the designated user to Reivew the form and approve the task as appropriate.
In testing I've been able to successfully perform this task however once I've changed this to another user, this process does not work.
They receive the Tasks email and click on the review link. The XML form attempts to open in InfoPath hoever they're presented with the error: Sorry, we couldn't open 'http://domain.com/site/form.xml'.
This is then followed by: Infopath cannot open the following file, the download of the specified resource has failed.
Any ideas??
Hi,
Please can someone confirm a query with SharePoint content types…
If a document library doesn't have content type management enabled a user can click create new document and choose the default word, excel, powerpoint templates, but if you enable content type management it removes these options and just uses the templates you've assigned instead?
If a user still wants the option to create the standard blank documents as well as using the content type templates I have found the option to make the 'document' type visible again but this just allows the blank word doc not excel etc.
Am i right in thinking the only way to get the other office templates to show would be to manually create a blank one of each and assign it to the library? Strange there isn’t an easy way to enable the other document types again as they're there somewherem, unless I’m missing something...
Thanks
We are creating an intranet and questioning if we should host this at the root site collection (example.SharePoint.com) after activating the SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure Feature. Our gut reaction is to create a separate publishing portal site collection with sub sites instead.
A cut and dry answer to our question would be to find out if Microsoft would still support us should we enable the feature on the root site collection.. found some reference to it not being supportedhttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2559901
Any pro's and cons on use of the root site collection is welcome.
Much appreciated
