Hello everyone,
I created a custom workflow activity that is supposed to be used through a declarative workflow created with SharePoint Designer.
The custom activity is contained in a Sandbox solution therefore it doesn't use anything which is not available on SharePoint Online.
Once my activity was created properly I uploaded it to an on premise site collection and it worked pretty nicely.
Then I uploaded the same solution package to my SharePoint Online site collection. I tried to create my SPD workflow as I did on premise. On the list of available activities I could indeed see my custom task, but when I dropped it on my workflow designer it was never added.
I checked this (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/299ffe5d-ca7a-420a-a468-116904135983/sharepoint-designer-workflow-custom-activities) already but it doesn't really help me for a "Online" scenario.
Any help is very much appreciated.
