SharePoint Online + SQL Server Reporting Services

Hello!

Using SSRS, are we able to connect to a SharePoint Online list?

I found only one, old answer in a different forum (thanks Trevor!) that says we're not able to, but double-checking that's still true in this forum.

If it is true, why?
