Document Library Alerts

Hi,

I really hope somebody can assist with the issue i'm having.

I have setup a SharePoint structure for a customer using SharePoint Online via O365 and they require reporting, auditing etc and they would also like to be notified if a file, that is stored in the Shared Documents location has not been updated in a certain time frame.

So basically, they require external engineers to update a document on a weekly basis, i would like to setup an alert to inform managers if the specified document has not been modified by looking at the date/time modified properties.

Is this possible, i have been scratching my head for day's trying to figure out how to get this to work.
