Share Point 365: Access to Network drive

Hello,

           We were using Share Point 2010 and we had built a tools library using that. Within the page we had developed we had created links. When we click on a relevant link, it goes and gets the information from a local network drive. Everything was working fine until we migrated to Share Point 365. The links that were previously developed have gone bad and it shows like this:

<a href='\\xxxx.com\ssss</a>

Upon investigation we see the field that has the link is a calculated field and it is done by concatenating a network drive link with another column.

We understand that the concept of concatenation has been deprecated in Share Point 365. Is there a way we can define concatenation in Share Point 365 and if so what is the syntax?

thanks

Ananth
