Is it possible to remove spo-grid-all-users from a group with PowerShell?

I tried following commands:

PS >$u = Get-SPOUser -Site "https://removed.sharepoint.com/sites/1" | Where-Object {$_.LoginName -like 'spo-grid-all-users/*'}

PS >Remove-SPOUser -Site "https://removed.sharepoint.com/sites/1" -LoginName $u.LoginName 

This fails with following error:

Remove-SPOUser : Cannot complete this action.
Please try again.

Removing from the group does not work either:

I can remove Everyone except external users group from site and Members group here https://removed.sharepoint.com/sites/1/_layouts/15/people.aspx page with the same creds that I'm using in the PowerShell session.

Search Custom Managed properties missing

Added two new properties but neither are available for selection in the content search web part.

One is a image field from the publishing feature rollup image ows_r_img_PublishingRollupImage i assume

the other is a Multi text field.

I've reindexing the list but no option in the web part??

Integrate SharePoint Online with SAP

Hi,

We are looking for solution to integrate SharePoint Online with on-premises SAP HCM module. How do we read and write data from SAP HCM module from SharePoint Online. Are there any limitation or boundaries for this integration. As SharePoint Online has some limitation and boundaries in terms of writing custom code.

pls guide.

Cannot activate sandboxed solutions in SharePoint Online

Since today morning SharePoint Online is not letting me activate sandboxed solutions as I usually do:

Solution Gallery -> Upload Solution -> Activate Solution

Until before today morning, the activation button was always enabled. Now I'm not able to publish my solution anymore. The piece of informative text that appears just above the button is this:

" Activation of solutions with sandboxed code has been disabled in this site collection. Contact your administrator to enable activation using the guidance published here. "

Searching throughout the web, I found amazing information about this issue, and its possible solutions.

After a couple of hours of searching, I summarized the reasons to just two: 1) Not enough permissions level or features and/or 2) Sandboxed service not being running.

After trying some solutions out (neither of them worked), I decided to move on and publish my test sandboxed solution to another site collection, that was created with another completely different Office365 tenant, the same issue happened. Then I managed to get my hands into another completely different site that my coworker works on, and it was the same!!.

My question is, Is that a global issue, a regional issue, or just a big crazy coincidence?

SharePoint online bad performance

Hi

The last couple of days I am experiencing very slow performance on my online SharePoint Site collections. When ever I create new items or customize features, it takes ages to save. Even just accessing pages or team sites, take for ever. 

I only use SharePoint OOTB, and I am the only user on thise site collections, as I mostly use them for testing.

Does any one else experience this or is it only me, and if so how can I see what is affecting the performance? 

I am Global administrator on my Office365 and Sitecollection admin on all my SharePoint Site collections.

I hope some one can help me.

Get all sites incl. subsites with properties in SPO

Dear all

I'm currently struggling with getting all SharePoint Online sites and subsites on our tenant. Well, getting these is easy - there are a lot of scripts using CSOM. However, I really have no experience in that and when it comes to getting additional properties, I really don't know how to do that. That's why I always searched for ps only commands to achieve above. However, seems like it's not that easy. 

Has anyone done this already or is it even possible without CSOM? In case CSOM is needed, I've come across this script which is basically what I need. Although, I can't figure out how to add properties like Title, Description, StorageQuota, Owner, etc. to it. And rather then write-host I'd need to save it into a .csv/.xlsx.

Any help is highly appreciated

Best solution to work with external users

Hi

We're using Office 365 Sharepoint Online and can share single files with external users without any problem.

I have know created a new documentlibrary with some internal users. This internal users creates folders an have to create a share link to this folder. The email of the external user is selected and email is send. The users then receives the link and when opened, access is denied. The user has not the required rights.
What's wrong, when I can share a single file with this external user but no folder?

I've testet Office Groups, but with the documents in the groups, other internal users can't share with new external users.

What's your prefered solution to work with external users, some anonymous(share link), some with Microsoft-Account, some only read and other with upload rights?

Copy a list attachment from source list to destination list through in SPO

We have a scenario to copy a attachment in a list from authoring list to publishing list upon approval. We have used SharePoint designer workflow for this as this is in SharePoint Online platform. We have usedCopy document action in workflow has been used to copy document from Author library to Publisher Library on its successful approval but item is not being copied. 

Is there any alternative ? pls let me know.

Hi SharePoint experts,

i need your help for taking the SharePoint online site backup as template.

Requirement: One of our customers requested us to take the SharePoint online site cloning which is around 8GB size and including lists, libraries, pictures, lookup fields and subsites.

Workaround: we had tried to take the SharePoint online site backup as ''save as site template" including site content option. However we are keep on receiving one error and it is describing as "the file path is too long ....." . So, we are unable to clone the site.

please help us how to clone the SharePoint online site which is around 8GB.

Hi All,

I am a relative noob to sharepoint so these are probably very easily answered questions.

I am setting up a pilot environment.  We have a requirement that all applicable documents stored in SP are protected by IRM.  What I want to know is how can I change the default behaviour so that everytime a document library is created it is automatically protected by an IRM policy?

sharing sites with external users: email notifications

Hi , I'm trying to share a 0365 SharePoint Online team site with an external user (the site collection is enabled for external sharing etc) when I click 'Share' I get the usual pop share box where I enter the user's email address and then SharePoint tells me it's an external address etc, i fill in the mesage box and choose a permission for the user and click on 'share'

Instead of the usual pop up notification that says I have shared the site with 'Joe Bloggs' I get a notification box saying 'Shared with external users' and there's no notification email in my Outlook in box and the user does not receive the shared email either. When I check the Access and Requests settings I can see the pending request in 'External User Invitations'. The same problem happens when I tested fwith the same user on anther site and other users from the same organisation as the user having problems have accessed the same sites and had email notifications. Would it be a problem with this users individual account?

File - Publish Method Error

I am running Web Service to Publish a file in a SharePoint online 2013 but facing fallowing issue "You can only publish or remove the publication of documents in a list where secondary versions are enabled"
can u tell me the pre-require steps to fallow while Publish a file using web service Publish Method

Not able to change APP ID permissions

Hi,

I am trying to modify the app ID permissions by using below tag in /_layouts/15/appinv.aspx page I ma getting an error "Your tenant administrator has to approve this app " . I am the global admin for my tenant. Can some one help me how to fix this. I can not grant Sharepoint Admin rights(custom admin rights) to another user.

Social Comments Control in SharePoint Online

Hi all,

We have added the SharePointPortalControls:SocialCommentControl control in a layout to enable to insert comments.

The control appears when we add a page with this layout but we are getting this error when we try to insert a new comment.

"There was an error processing this request. Please refresh this page."

Is strange because this is working in some tenants and not working in others.

The default time period for creating new versions in SharePoint Online

During co-authoring of a document, when a different user begins working on the document or when a user clicks save to upload changes to the library. The default time period for creating new versions during co-authoring is 30 minutes. This is configurable per web application in SharePoint on-premises. This setting is not configurable in SharePoint Online.

Will this be available in any future release?

When can we expect this configuration to be available in Sharepoint Online?

Modern Document Libraries breaks Term Store Navigation

If we enable the new Modern Document Libraries instead of using classic SharePoint, our Term Store Navigation no longer works.  Is this something that Microsoft is currently researching and trying to fix?  We would like to use the new features offered by the new Modern Document libraries, etc., but cannot until this issue is resolved.

Need Auto-Check-in for Dragged/Dropped Files That Don't Have Mandatory Metadata

We have mandatory metadata fields on our content type.  When people drag/drop files they are checked out and are only visible to the user and admins (via Library Settings).

Is there a way to have these files checked out, but visible to all users?  I'm fine with them being checked out as we have a column in our views that show who the Checked Out To person is.  I've thought about having a default value like "NOT CATEGORIZED" so the file is automatically checked in so people can see that value and remember to add metadata and check in the file.

But is there another way?  Maybe a workflow can add dummy metadata during the upload process, then delete it and check it out?

Attaching Items When Creating New List Items

Hi,

In Office 365, it was possible to attach items when creating new list items (using the 2013 UI):

However, it is currently not possible using the 2016 UI. The lists have attachments enabled and still allow attaching items to existing list items (by editing the existing items):

Browsers used for testing: Chrome, IE 11

I would like to know if there are any settings that must be configured, or if this is by design in 2016. Thank you

O365 SharePoint Groups, SharePoint People Picker and Exchange Distribution Groups

I have a group in Exchange that is a distribution group which gets updated every time a new employee is added to Exchange and are associated with the group.  However, this group is not pullable in people picker.  I need a modified Everyone group.  How can I do that in Office O365 and have that group updated each time a new user is added?  For example, "Everyone - US"?

Side-loading feature no longer working?

Hey there,

    We deploy Apps to customer tenants by the fairly well-known method of side-loading.

This involves

  • Enabling the side loading feature 'AE3A1339-61F5-4f8f-81A7-ABD2DA956A7D'
  • Calling the PnP commandlet Import-SPOAppPackage
  • Turning off side-loading.

I noticed today that the feature now lo longer stays active after you add it and the Import-SPOAppPackage fails with error:

Import-SPOAppPackage : web.CurrentUser is null

or

Import-SPOAppPackage : The remote server returned an unexpected response: (405) Method Not Allowed.

or

Import-SPOAppPackage : Sideloading of apps is not enabled on this site.

Has anyone been able to reproduce this, or has a workaround?
